Possum Magic*

When we built our new home a year ago we made sure that the girls would have their own space to play and hang out in. As they get older they will only need more room to spread their stuff out in.. lets face it they aren’t little forever and when they get older it will be one of the rooms in our home that changes the most.

There is still an arts and crafts area to add to this room however their reading area is one that I love and the girls spend a lot of time in.For now this corner is finished so I thought I would share it with you all. When I was trying to choose colours and themes that I knew my girls would love the book “Possum Magic” was my inspiration. A beautiful story about not being afraid to be yourself.. and this room is exactly that. Filled with colour and all the fun things that my girls love. This room is a little piece of magic for them and I hope that they continue to love it as they get older. The house day bed was made by my father and is such a nice piece for the girls to play in and treasure, there has been many cubbies and ‘pirate ships’ in here!

With more stuffed teddies than sense, storage is always a component that we need to be functional and stylish. These gorgeous baskets are from Kmart and Big W, they were really affordable and make a great storage solution. They are also quite deep so you can ‘stuff’ Peppa pig and all her friends right to the bottom! HA!!

Storing and displaying books can be a little tricky and we all know how hard it can be to keep a shelf styled beautifully with children. These Ikea picture ledges make the best book shelves and a great way to display little trinkets. They are extremely affordable and easy to put up in any space. Shop them HERE

Adding texture and warmth to a room isn’t always easy, small timber accents like these timber shelves from Adairs are a great way to do just that.
The Girls have lots of sweet trinkets we have collected and its so nice to be able to display them and enjoy them in their very own space.

The gold and timber star garland was one of my favourite purchases from a recent trip to Bali, if you go make sure you pop into “Rose Avenue” they have such a gorgeous store filled with beautiful treasures like these you won’t be disappointed, Plus! You can shop some of their goodies online to.
